Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus) colonize a wide range of habitats. This contribution deals with some aspects of their ecological plasticity in comparing diet, time budget, and grouping patterns of populations in different habitats. The limits of the ecological plasticity of the Barbary macaque will be discussed, in connection with implications for its demography and conservation.
