Two cases of postural asymmetries following unilateral subthalamotomy were observed with head and body tilting to the side contralateral to the STN lesion, which corrected itself completely or partially with levodopa treatment. After subsequent contralateral STN surgery, the postural asymmetry disappeared in both patients. Possible mechanism is discussed. (C) 2001 Movement Disorder Society.
