The coordination polymer synthesized by the reaction between porous copper terephthalate and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) has a porous structure consisting of two mutually interpenetrating three-dimensional frameworks with large cavities. It exhibits novel adsorption behavior and has a dynamic structure in which its own frameworks change in response to external stimuli such as pressure.
