Hierarchically imprinted stationary phases: Mesoporous polymer beads containing surface-confined binding sites for adenine

Immobilization of a template on the surface of a mesoporous silica mold and copolymerization of functional and cross-linking monomers in the mold followed by dissolution of the silica results in the first hierarchically imprinted beads useful for affinity chromatographic applications.
