A supramolecular Pc-C-60 dyad with pseudorotaxane-like geometry has been assembled in solution by the threading of a dibenzylammonium Unit attached to a fullerene through the crown ether of an unsymmetrically substituted phthalocyanine, which contains a DB24C8 moiety. Spectroscopic data as well as electrochemical studies suggest a conformation for the complex in which the two bulky subunits are far apart from each other thus preventing electronic interactions between both electroactive subunits.
