1,1,4,4-Tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene nanocrysytals were fabricated by the microwave method, whose procedure is the conventional reprecipitation followed by the microwave irradiation. Using this method, monodispersive nanocrystals possessing the crystal structure different from that of bulk crystals were produced. Change in optical properties depending on the crystal size is also reported. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
