We have measured the spectra of diffuse reflection and the total and collimated transmission of the mucous membrane of the stomach in the normal state by the methods of integrating spheres and single scattering in a wavelength range from 350 to 750 nm. The optical characteristics of this biological tissue were determined by solving the inverse scattering problem using the Kubelka-Munk three-flux model and the diffusion method. A comparative analysis of the results is presented. (C) 2003 MAIK Nauka/Interperiodica.
