Three Pt/C catalysts for PEMFC cathode were prepared by impregnation-reduction method using HCHO, NaBH4, and N2H4 as reductant, respectively, and characterized by BET, CV and XRD. The effect of reduction methods on the activity of catalysts was investigated. Compared with NaBH4 and N2H4, HCHO is the most suitable one among the three reductants. The catalytic activity for oxygen reduction is in the order Pt(HCHO) > Pt(NaBH4) > Pt(N2H4).
