For its medium term (up to 4 days) flow forecasts and for snowmelt contribution estimate, EDF-DTG uses the hydrological model MORDOR on many mountainous basins. A new representation of snow in this model has been achieved, on the one hand to improve the performance of the model in certain situations, on the other hand to provide values of snowpack water equivalent at various altitudes of the basin in order to confront these modelled values with the nivo-logic measurements (Manual and automatic). The first results of this development are presented, with the example of the Durance at Serre-Poncon watershed.
