Ordered mesoporous two-dimensional coppersilicate catalyst (CuSBA-15) has been prepared by direct method under acidic conditions. The catalyst is characterized by XRD, nitrogen sorption and HR-TEM. The nitrogen adsorption measurement indicates that the materials possess BET specific surface area ca. 692 m(2)/g. Electron microscopy images prove that the CuSBA-15 possesses ordered structure with uniform pore channels. Further, the catalyst is utilized for three component coupling reaction of aldehydes, amines and alkynes, for the efficient synthesis of propargylamine and their derivatives. The effect of aliphatic aldehydes and solvents on corresponding products is systematically investigated. The CuSBA-15 catalyst shows excellent yields in short reaction time. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V.
