The catalytic properties of Ni3Sn and Ni3Sn2 powders were investigated for producing hydrogen from decomposing methanol during 593-953 K. The activities of Ni3Sn and Ni3Sn2 both increased with increasing temperature, but Ni3Sn showed much higher activity than Ni3Sn2. Furthermore, Ni3Sn and Ni3Sn2 both showed a high degree of selectivity for methanol decomposition.
