The CeO2/CuO catalysts with different precipitants were synthesized by the hydrothermal method and characterized via a variety of techniques. The study shows that the CeO2/CuO-U has different morphology from the other catalysts, which is related to its highest BET surface area. The performance tests suggest that the highly dispersed CuO is favorable for CO adsorption at low temperature, and the high-temperature activity is closely associated with the reduction of bulk CuO. The CeO2/CuO-N and CeO2/CuO-U catalysts display the wider temperature window of CO total conversion than the other catalysts. SEM images of the catalysts: d CeO2/CuO-T, e CeO2/CuO-U. The CeO2/CuO-U has different morphology from the other catalysts, which is related to its highest BET surface area. The particle-like appearance is bulk CuO. The filamentous and bowl-like structures are composed of the similar to 5 nm CeO2 crystallites.
