A novel bisimidazolium ionic liquid bridged periodic mesoporous organosilica was prepared. Bisimidazolium ionic liquid was incorporated into the framework of mesoporous materials and copper (II) chloride can be easily introduced to the framework via the formation of CuCl42- complex. This copper (II) ion-containing bisimidazolium ionic liquid bridged material showed high activity and stability in the decomposition of cyclohexyl hydroperoxide. Ninety-nine percent conversion and 84% selectivity for cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol (K/A oil) could be obtained. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
