Sulfated tungstate catalyzed simple, one pot, solvent free and environmentally benign process for synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones via Biginelli reaction is described. It was found that the catalyst is reusable and exhibited remarkable activity. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
