Efficient epoxidation of olefins catalyzed by MoO2(acac)(2) supported on functionalized MCM-41 containing N-S chelating Schiff base ligand, MCM-41-SB-MoO2(acac), is reported. The catalyst, MCM41-SB-MoO2(acac), can be successfully applied for efficient epoxidation of olefins with tert-BuOOH in 1,2-dichloroethane as solvent. This catalyst was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). This heterogeneous catalyst can be reused several times without significant loss of its catalytic activity. (c) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
