An efficient and readily available catalyst system Cu(OAc)(2)center dot H2O/(-)-sparteine has been developed for N-arylation of amines and nitrogen-containing heterocycles with aryl iodides, bromides, and chlorides, providing the corresponding products with moderate to good yields (up to 99%).
