The micromagnetic properties of an array of amorphous nanowires, having a low out-of-plane anisotropy to demagnetizing energy ratio (K-N/2piM(S)(2) = Qsimilar to0.1), are exposed. First, the difference between the hysteresis loop of the continuous film and that of a single wire is explained as change in the contribution of the total energy. Second, the behavior of an array of parallel nanowires under an applied external field having an angle from the axis of the wire is discussed. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
