The possible use of modified nanodiamond powders in heterogeneous and electrochemical oxidation catalyses is analyzed. It is shown that the efficiency of oxidation catalysis depends on the content of atomic oxygen. The inference is drawn that the electrochemical modification of the surface of nanodiamond powders in a hydrochloric solution and the promotion of the surface with palladium are promising for the preparation of both catalysts of the oxidation of CO to CO2 and electrodes of low-temperature fuel elements.
