This paper deals with the analysis of a new class of models of population dynamics with kinetic interactions. The content is essentially methodological and is organized in two parts. The first one refers to modeling in the framework of the so-called generalized kinetic (Boltzmann) models. The second part deals with the modeling of microscopic interactions between the individuals involved in the game. Microscopic modeling is then addressed to applications in epidemiology.
