The essential oil content in the fruits of the native species Teucrium polium growing wild in south of Iran was found to be 1.2% based on the fresh weight. The oil was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Forty-five constituents, representing 91.2% of the oil were identified. The major components of the oil were -pinene (18.2%), elemol (14.5%), -pinene (10.1%), cubenol (10.0%), and limonene (5.0%).
