We review recent experimental results and phenomenological models of the electron-phonon interaction in high-T-c superconductors as seen by angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES). We focus on the relatively higher doped systems for which the data is reminiscent of a single phonon process and highlight evidence for the relevance of several specific phonon modes to these materials.
