Metal complexes of manganese(II), iron(II), and nickel(II) chlorides with acrylamide, [M(O-OC(NH2)CH=CH2)(4)Cl-2] (M = Mn (1), Fe (2) and Ni (3)), have been prepared and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The complexes crystallize in the cubic space group, I4 ($) over bar 3d. The coordination geometries of the metal centers in all three complexes involve tetragonally distorted octahedral structures with four O-donor atoms of acrylamide bonded in the equatorial positions and two chlorides in the apical positions.
