Zinc ferrite gel fibers were prepared from the sol precursor by the electrospinning method, and the ZnFe2O4 polycrystalline nanofibers were obtained upon calcination of the gel fibers. The obtained ZnFe2O4 nanofibers composed of 20-30 nm nanocrystals were about one hundred to several hundred nanometers in diameter. The materials have been characterized by means of SEM, TEM, XRD, TGA, and IR techniques.
