The GaCl3-assisted [2 + 3] cycloaddition of Mes*-N=P-Cl (Mes* = 2,4,6-(Bu3C6H2)-Bu-t) with trimethylsilylazide (TMS-N-3) results in the formation of the first tetrazaphosphole, stabilized as a GaCl3 adduct in high yields (> 96%).
