Core cross-linked star polymers based on poly( dimethylsiloxane) ( PDMS) with an extremely low glass transition temperature (-124 degrees C) are used to form honeycomb materials via the 'breath figure' technique - the soft-flowing nature of poly( dimethylsiloxane) enables the coating of particulate surfaces with an ordered honeycomb material.
