Anatase TiO2 porous thin films were prepared on glass substrates by sol-gel method with Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide (CTAB) as a pore-forming agent, Tetrabutylorthotitanate as Ti precursor, ethanol as solvent and diethanolamine as chelating agent respectively. IR, TG-DSC, XRD and SEM analyzed the chemical and physical changes during sol-gel process and characteristics of the films. Effects of the amount of CTAB, alkane and water on morphology of the films were discussed and the principle of forming porous structure was proposed. It was shown that the diameter of pores was changed in the range of 30-400 nm.
