Humanizing childbirth care: pondering on public policies

This paper looks into how Brazilian public policies are being developed with regard to humanization of childbirth care, describing governmental activities and the role of social movements. It also discusses the current context of the federal policies, identifying interesting paradoxes within current practices, as well as important challenges for the effective extension of this project throughout the country.
