Skin color, one of the most important characteristics of grapes, is determined by the accumulation of anthocyan ins. It has been shown that (lie anthocyanin accumulation is influenced by abscisic acid and environmental factors such as temperature and light. However, the mechanism regulating anthocyanin biosynthesis has not yet been clarified. This review presents a brief account of our research on the regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis in grapes and the mechanism of skin color mutation.
