The questions of social and economic development of Mongolia in contemporary conditions of globalization and adverse climatic changes are discussed. It is shown that wildlife and raw material resources of Mongolia are extremely vulnerable to human impacts. Despite the significant biological diversity and rich ness of renewable and nonrenewable resources, urgent upgrading of the system of exploitation of natural resources within a strict legislative framework and with the obligatory account of age-old traditions of sustainable environmental management is required.
