Around 50% of women undergoing mastectomy choose to pursue breast reconstruction to improve their psychological, social and sexual well-being, and many of them will require subsequent radiotherapy. The optimal integration of mastectomy and radiotherapy may create a therapeutic challenge. This review addresses selected aspects of this problem. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
