Recently, sodium-ion battery has been extensively explored as one of the most promising alternatives for lithium-ion battery because of the similar physical and chemical properties and its abundance in the earth's crust. Transition metal oxides based on conversion reactions, with high capacity and low cost, have been considered as promising anode materials. In this review, recent progress of conversion reactione-based transition metal oxides for SIBs is summarized; moreover, critical issues, current challenges, and future perspectives are discussed with the hope of casting some light on this type of materials.
