We report a bio-inspired ionic skin with high stretchability (>1700%), transparency (>80%) and sensitivity (2 kPa(-1)). It is promising for sensing applications because it works stably in various harsh environments, without dehydration at high temperature (80 degrees C), swelling or ion leakage in aqueous mediums, or freezing at low temperature (-40 degrees C).
