Platinum nanoparticles with average size of <100 nm were successfully electrodeposited under the pulse electrolysis regime on a glassy carbon surface in dimethyl sulfoxide solutions of PtCl2. The particle size dependence on the value of cathode potential, the number of pulse cycles and precursor concentration are discussed in details. It was found that the average size of platinum nanoparticles decreases at a higher value of cathode potential and a lower number of pulse cycles or the precursor concentration.
