Bipolar membranes: A review on principles, latest developments, and applications

Research and development in BPMs over the past two decades have led to a growing market and attention due to technical, environmental, and economic advancements. This review article provides an overview of BPM technology, discussing the current state of the art, properties, theoretical models, applications, optimization, fabrication advances, and potential novel applications.
