An automatic subject specific channel selection method for enhancing motor imagery classification in EEG-BCI using correlation

Pramod Gaur et al.

Summary: A motor imagery based brain-computer interface decodes motor intentions from EEG signals to translate them into control signals. The paper presents a method to reduce the number of EEG channels while maintaining accuracy, utilizing an automatic subject-specific channel selection method based on Pearson correlation coefficient. This method helps to select highly correlated EEG channels for a particular subject without compromising classification accuracy.

A Sliding Window Common Spatial Pattern for Enhancing Motor Imagery Classification in EEG-BCI

Pramod Gaur et al.

Summary: Accurate binary classification of EEG signals is challenging for the development of MI-BCI systems. This study proposes two sliding window techniques, SW-LCR and SW-Mode, to enhance binary classification performance. Experimental results on healthy individuals and stroke patients show that these techniques achieve stable classification accuracy around 80% with different performance trends.
