Summary: This study examines the impact of different colors, brightness values, and flashing frequencies on escape time during fire emergencies using a virtual reality simulation. The results indicate that green is the most suitable color for evacuations, increased brightness improves escape efficiency, and higher flicker frequencies decrease evacuation time. Based on these findings, a fire evacuation indicating system is designed and verified to improve escape efficiency.

Summary: This paper uses an I-O approach and a CGE model to examine the economy-wide impacts of increased public capital investment in air transport infrastructure. The results suggest that air transport has above-average backward linkages with other sectors, particularly the mining industry. At the macroeconomic level, expanding public air transport stock leads to modest growth in GDP, employment, income, consumption, private investment, and trade. The estimated impact of air transport investment is lower than that estimated using partial equilibrium techniques.

Summary: This study investigates immersive reading in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) environments compared to reading on a liquid crystal display (LCD). The findings show that participants reading in VR and AR head-mounted displays (HMDs) accurately obtained 82% (VR) and 88% (AR) of the information compared to reading on an LCD. Additionally, participants tended to respond more accurately and faster in speed-reading tasks with a higher pixel density VR HMD, although not statistically significant.
