This study reports pH-responsive complex coacervates that remain intact under acidic conditions and dissolve in alkaline conditions, showing potential for oral delivery to the gastrointestinal tract.
Recently, Margossian et al. reported pH-responsive complex coac-ervates formed by a polyzwitterion and a polyelectrolyte in Nature Communications, which remain intact under acidic conditions (pH % 3) yet dissolve with increasing pH, suggesting the potential for oral delivery to the gastrointestinal tract.
