Gender-Based Violence Among Female Senior Secondary School Students in Eastern Ethiopia

A study in eastern Ethiopia found that emotional violence, physical violence, and sexual violence were prevalent among female school students, with a high overall prevalence of 53.04% in the past 12 months. Risk factors included having a boyfriend, being married, and not receiving enough pocket money from family.

A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Associated Factors of Gender-Based Violence against Women in Sub-Saharan Africa

This highlights the critical need for socio-behavioral change communication interventions and other interventions at both the individual and community levels to prevent gender-based violence in SSA.
