Molecular electrostatic potential analysis: A powerful tool to interpret and predict chemical reactivity

Cherumuttathu H. Suresh et al.

Summary: The MESP topology analysis is widely used for the interpretation and prediction of chemical reactivity, providing valuable information about bonded regions, electron-rich regions, and intermolecular interactions. The mapping of MESP topology is achieved by computing backward difference data and Hessian matrix elements at critical points.

Light Amplification and Efficient Electroluminescence from a Solution-Processable Diketopyrrolopyrrole Derivative via Triplet-to-Singlet Upconversion

Atul Shukla et al.

Summary: Efficient electroluminescence (EL) and low amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) thresholds were achieved in a solution-processable organic laser dye, DT-DPP, through the use of triplet excitons and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). The organic light-emitting diode fabricated from this system showed a high external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 7.9% due to the efficient utilization of triplet excitons. High reverse intersystem crossing rate was found to be crucial in achieving lasing under electrical pumping from such TADF-assisted fluorescent systems.

Chapter Open for the Excited-State Intramolecular Thiol Proton Transfer in the Room-Temperature Solution

Chun-Hsiang Wang et al.

Summary: This study presents experimental observations on the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) reaction of the thiol proton in room-temperature solution for the first time. The results indicate that all studied thiols undergo thermally favorable ESIPT, and the diethylamino electron-donating group extends pi-electron delocalization, primarily in the pi pi* configuration of the S-1' state, exhibiting significant tautomer emission.

Summary: Highly efficient OLEDs with low ASE thresholds and wide color-tuning capability were achieved by designing a series of organic dyes with different electron properties. Additionally, using a TADF molecule as a triplet harvester boosted the EQE value of OLEDs and reduced the ASE threshold.
