The alkaloid 3-bromomultiflorine and its molecular complex with succinimide were studied by FTIR spectroscopy. In the spectrum of the complex in the solid state, the presence of the N-H ... N hydrogen bond, according to X ray study, is very well reflected by the broadened absorption in the region 3100-2600 cm(-1). In contrast to the above, in chloroform solution the 1:1 complex dissociated almost completely. Thus the adducts of alkaloids with various compounds cannot affect the chemical and biological properties of alkaloids in solutions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
