Cracking squalene over a zeolite catalyst produced an organic liquid containing light hydrocarbons. The distillate of the organic liquid product (b.p. <275 degrees C) was analyzed by ASTM gasoline methods and found to have a research octane number of 98. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
