Refluxing of Ln(3)((OBu)-Bu-t)(9)((BuOH)-Bu-t)(2) (Ln=La, Nd, Yb) in toluene led to Ln(5)O((OBu)-Bu-t)(13) which was characterised by X-ray diffraction in the case of lanthanum. Aggregates of higher nuclearity were obtained in similar conditions for yttrium and praseodymium. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
