The hierarchy of preference reward disability groups mas measured for 171 subjects on 16 disabilities. Results indicated that the hierarchy of preference reported by Tringo (1970) exists today despite many efforts by society to remove such stereotypes. Further, the rank-order of the hierarchy appears to be quite stable in that only individuals with cancer show an appreciable change in relative position.
