CuFe1.6Cr0.4O4-BaTiO3 composites were prepared using conventional ceramic double sintering process. The presence of both the phases in composite was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The variation of dielectric constant (epsilon') with frequency in the range 100 Hz to 1 MHz and also with temperature at a fixed frequency of 10 KHz was studied. AC conductivity was derived from dielectric constant (epsilon') and loss tangent (tan delta) measurements. The nature of conduction is discussed in the light of polaron hopping model. The static value of magnetoelectric conversion factor, i.e. DC(ME)(H) has been studied as a function of intensity of magnetic field. The maximum value of DC(ME)H was found to be 95.6 mu V cm(-1) Oe.
