All-silica mesoporous MCM-41 molecular sieve films consisting of oriented macroporous tubules have been prepared utilizing pulsed laser deposition and a series of post-hydrothermal treatments. The molecular sieve films were deposited on polished silicon wafer substrates with the pores oriented perpendicular to the surface of the substrate. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
