(S)-3-Acyl-4-diphenylmethyl-2-(N-cyanoimino)thiazolidine was found to be an effective enantioselective acylation reagent for racemic amines. 3-Benzoyl derivative was found to realize up to 79% ee upon acylation of (+/-)-1-phenylethylamine.
