Digital imaging was investigated as a potential means of processing high density dot arrays for analytical purposes. Using a high resolution digital camera, a colour image of the dot array was taken and subsequently processed using in-house developed National Instruments LabVIEW(R) software to return numerical values for the red, green and blue components of the colour of each dot.
