Usefulness of the blood lymphocyte count in predicting recurrent instability and death in patients with unstable angina pectoris

We assessed the prognostic value of total and differential white blood cell counts in patients with unstable angina. Our findings showed that the lymphocyte count had a strong inverse relation to the risk of future serious cardiac events, and we conclude that in patients with unstable angina, low lymphocyte count is associated with higher cardiovascular risk.
