The crystal structure of tetragonal Mn3Ga5 has been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The space group is P4(2)/nmc with a = 12.659(2) Angstrom and b = 24.616(6) Angstrom. R-w = 1.50%. The structure is mainly made up of 38 atoms clusters isotypic to those found in gamma-brass, Cu5Zn8. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
