The presence of an OH group on a resin can be visualized with a colourimetric test based on the anchoring of a carboxylic dye on a chlorotriazine covalently linked to the hydroxyl group. 2,4,6-Trichloro-[1,3,5]-triazine (TCT) and Alizarin R (AliR) colour OH containing beads as deep yellow-red globes.
